PC Acting Sluggish?
Try the following tricks to help speed up your system
Clear the Prefetch
The Prefetch stores temporary files used to open programs during the start up. Cleaning this folder out will free up system memory thus speeding up your computer, if only slightly. To do so follow these simple steps
Click Start > Run
Type "PREFETCH" in the Run box and press ENTER
Select all the files you see in the folder and hit DELETE
Clear the Temporary Files
Every time you open a document, view a picture, or play a game, your system stores temporary files to help load these things faster at a later time. Sounds good at first, but these files are stored in your systems memory, and the more they build up, the slower your computer gets. Try this out.
Click Start > Run
Type "%TEMP%" in the Run box and press ENTER
Select all the files you see in the folder and hit DELETE
Also make sure you clear you Browser History and Temporary Internet Files. This option is normally found under Tools > Internet Options or Tools > Clear Private Data in your browser.
